Concord man accused of costly school rampage

CONCORD, N.C. —

A Concord man will go before a judge in February after he was charged with causing almost $40,000 during a bizarre rampage in a local high school.

Police said James Berry broke into Central Cabarrus High School on Friday when it was closed.

Investigators said Berry broke into two refrigerators and threw away drinks. He also put several computers in the garbage.

Officers said he went on to break into three vehicles in the school's parking lot.
