Council to vote on alcohol ads for city buses

The fight over alcohol ads on local buses isn't over.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Charlotte City Council will vote on adding advertisements, including alcohol ads, to light rail stations Tuesday night.

Some council members are unhappy that some alcohol ads are already on Charlotte Area Transit System buses.

If CATS sells advertising on platforms, it cannot legally discriminate against certain businesses, such as liquor companies.

Council members will take the issue up at the meeting.
