South Tryon Street at First and Hill streets was closed, as was Stonewall Street from Church to College streets. The area was closed to cars and pedestrians for most of the morning, reopening at about noon.

A window on the 46th floor of the building was damaged. Officials said a bird may have hit it.

Officials said they were concerned that the window could break and fall, possibly injuring someone below.
