Driver Still In Hospital After Accident In Iredell County

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. —

A newspaper carrier was still in critical condition at a hospital on Saturday, after a single-vehicle accident in Iredell County.

Police say Edmund Wade Teague, III, was driving a van while delivering newspapers around 5:30 a.m. Friday. His wife, Monica Teague, was also in the car with him.

Teague was driving along Tuskaroroa Trail, when he ran off the road and then overcorrected, police said. He was ejected from the vehicle.

He was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. His wife was taken to Lake Normal Regional Medical Center. She was treated and released.
