IB Students Learn About Other Cultures

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Huntingtowne Farms Elementary is one of 16 schools in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools offering the International Baccalaureate program, also known as IB.

The magnet offers programs for students in all grade levels, beginning in kindergarten.

Children studying in the IB program are exposed to world languages and cultures and gain a better understanding of the people who make up our planet.

A great example of the expanded learning comes from Huntingtowne Farms -- the IB students there raised money for a new library in Malawi.

Students only have until Thursday night at 10 p.m. to sign up online for the CMS magnet lottery.

Visit the Huntingtowne Farms Web site.
