Students Mistakenly Accepted To Charlotte Montessori Schools

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

More than 80 families were disappointed to find out an acceptance letter their children received in the mail was nothing more than a computer error.

The children, who were not accepted into Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' Montessori program got letters in the mail saying they got in.

School officials had to call each parent to tell them it was a mistake.

"It's an unfortunate error and we're certainly sorry about it. Computer programs are only as good as the data we input, and in this case we made a mistake with the data we put in," said CMS Superintendent Peter Gorman.

The three Montessori schools in CMS are Chantilly, Park Road, and Highland Mill.
