CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Extra police were on hand for the sell-out crowd. More than 40 Charlotte-Mecklenburg school and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers were at the game.
They hoped the increased visibility would prevent more problems. Friday was the first game at East Meck since gunshots rang out and two students were injured in a fight two weeks ago.
Independence beat East Meck 54-22. It was Independence's 100th straight win.
