Extra Security At High School Football Game

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. —

There was extra security at the South Point-West Mecklenburg High School football game Friday night, after West Meck spent part of the day on lockdown.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said they wanted to make sure there weren't any problems at the game. They checked bags at the entrances and used metal detectors to screen for weapons.

Security even turned away some students who were shirtless and wearing body paint. Officers told them to go home and come back with shirts on.

There weren't any problems at the game.
