Father Describes Moment Car Hit Baby's Stroller

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

A baby girl from Charlotte remained in critical condition Wednesday night after she and her parents were hit by a passing car.

Noble Lawson, 1, is hooked up to ventilators. Shane Lawson said his daughter has "swelling of the brain" and multiple broken bones.

Noble's mom and dad were pushing her stroller down Sharon Road West on Monday night when, police say, a driver got distracted and ran off the road.

Shane Lawson recalled for Eyewitness News what happened next.

"I was the only one who didn't get knocked out. So I had seen what happened. I saw the stroller and her go flying in the air," Lawson said.

Sean Ross was driving down the road and witnessed the accident.

"When I looked up, I saw it (the car) jumped the curb. And I heard boom-boom, boom-boom. And it ran up in the bushes. And I told my friend 'Oh my God,'" Ross said.

Police had not filed any charges against the driver late Wednesday night.
