Fences Create Dangerous Problem For Deer In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they are seeing more problems involving deer and a certain type of fence in the city.

The fence is wrought iron, and has spiked-shaped points at the top. Police said deer are getting their hind legs impaled on the fence when they try to jump over it.

The animal usually has to be euthanized afterward.

The Providence Presbyterian Church has had two deer impaled on its fence. Now church leaders have set the ball in motion to hopefully get the problem fixed.
