CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The home on Finchley Drive near Eastway Drive caught fire shortly after midnight. Investigators believe it was caused by a space heater in a back bedroom.
There were three adults and three children in the home, but none were hurt. Two other adults who lived there were at work at the time. They are all related. Three dogs also survived the fire.
Firefighters told us the flames were shooting out of the back of the house when they arrived. They say the home is gutted and may be completely destroyed.
