Fire Rips Through Textile Factory In Southwest Charlotte

U.S. Cotton Textile Factory Fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

A three-alarm fire ripped through a southwest Charlotte textile factory early Friday morning. The fire started on a pallet in the storage room of U.S. Cotton.

It was originally classified as a two-alarm fire, but because of the low water pressure on Thursday, firefighters wanted to make sure there would be enough water to contain the fire.

The fire was mostly contained by the sprinkler system, and the firefighters were able to put it out with no injuries.
