Firefighter Collapses At Fire Station

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Firefighters in Charlotte are mourning the loss of one of their own today.

44-year-old Kent Furman Long of Indian Trail died while on duty Friday night. He collapsed while exercising outside Station 23 on WT Harris Boulevard.

Long leaves behind a wife and two children. The cause of his death is still being investigated.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 9:30-11:15 a.m. at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow.
