CHARLOTTE, NC —
A fire caused major damage at a house on Surry Ridge Court in South Charlotte. Firefighters estimate the damage at $200,000.
The family was getting ready to go out to dinner Thursday night when the teenage daughter ran downstairs saying the Christmas tree was on fire.
Firefighters are not sure if the tree caused the fire, but they say it was a factor in why the fire spread so quickly.
No one was hurt.
