Frye announces medical staff leadership for 2012

Frye Regional Medical staff has announced its medical staff leadership appointments for 2012.

Eric W. Hanson, MD, has been named chief of staff. Dr. Hanson attended medical school at the University of Florida, and is board certified in anesthesiology. He completed a cardiac fellowship at the University of Virginia and has been an examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology. He and his family have lived in Hickory since 1998.

The position of vice chief of staff will be filled by Mark A. Faruque, MD, who attended medical school at Northeastern Ohio University/University of Akron and is board certified in family medicine.

Neil Epperly, DO, will serve as secretary. Epperly attended medical school at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board certified in pulmonary and critical care.
