Future of rundown east Charlotte motel in question

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

During a closed session, the Mecklenburg County Commissioners rejected a plan on Tuesday to purchase half of the Charlotte Inn and two vacant properties on Independence Boulevard.

The city and county were set to pay $950,000 each to tear down the building in order to redevelop the site.
