Flu Shots At Freedom Mall

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said too few Americans are getting flu shots.

There was a shortage last year, but at least 70 million doses of the flu vaccine should be available in the U.S. this year.

Seasonal flu kills an average of 36,000 Americans every year.

The Mecklenburg County Health Department has scheduled three more flu shot clinics.

Tuesday, Nov. 1, Freedom Mall, 3205 Freedom Drive

The clinic runs 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. The vaccine costs $25, payable by cash or check. Medicare "B" and Medicaid will also be accepted. Be sure to have your insurance card handy.

More information on these and upcoming flu shot opportunities can be found on the Mecklenburg County Health Department's Flu Clinic Information Hotline at 704-336-4667.
