Hickory Fire Caused By Space Heater

HICKORY, N.C. —

Investigators in Hickory said an overnight fire was caused by something being too close to a space heater.

Authorities said the fire broke out at about 2 a.m. in a home on Fourth Avenue Southwest.

The blaze destroyed much of the home, causing more than $100,000 in damage.

Those living at the home are now being helped by the Red Cross.
