High Wind Warning For Charlotte Area Wednesday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Meteorologist Keith Monday is forecasting wind as the major weather issue Wednesday. He said the sustained winds through the morning hours are starting out between 10-20 mph with gusts near 30 mph.

As the day rolls on, Monday said the winds will pick up more with sustained winds of 20-30 mph and gusts near 50 mph. Those high winds could lead to tree and power line damage across the region. The trees will come down easier because the ground is still very wet from last week’s heavy rainfall.

Wind speeds in the high country will be even stronger, with gusts near 60 mph.

The wind will start to wind down Wednesday night but it will remain breezy through tomorrow.
