Homeowner In Hospital After Kannapolis House Fire

A homeowner from Kannapolis is in the hospital after a house fire early Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to the call at Stonewyck Avenue at Oakwood Avenue just before 1 a.m.

The first call reported someone was trapped inside but when firefighters arrived, that person was outside the home.

Firefighters say the house was heavily damaged.

Fire officials will continue to investigate the fire to determine its cause.
