Illegal Immigrant Accused In Deadly DWI Crash

An illegal immigrant from Mexico is jailed and charged with killing a Rockingham, N.C., man while driving drunk.

The crash happened just before midnight on Saturday. Police say Eduardo Sanchez Alejandro crashed into a car being driven by 25-year old Reginald McEachian on N.C. 74.

Witnesses saw Alejandro and a passenger run out of their car after the accident. Police dogs found the driver hiding in the nearby woods, the passenger hasn't been found.

"Whether you're here illegally or legally, do the right thing," said Brenda McEachian about the migrant worker now charged in her son's death. "What happened was not right."

Alejandro is charged with second-degree murder, felony hit-and-run and driving while impaired. He is in jail without bond.
