MINT HILL, N.C. —
Mint Hill Fire Chief John Phillips talks about the ongoing investigation
The first fire started at a house under construction on old Sycamore Road.
Crews got the fire under control around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say that fire was intentionally set and most of the damage was on the second floor.
Authorities also believe the fire is related to two similar fires that happened in Mint Hill last Thursday.
"The Fire Marshall's office is hard at work on all of these fires to try and come to a conclusion," said Mint Hill Fire Department Chief John Phillips.
Fire crews also worked a second fire at Northeast Middle School in Mint Hill.
Officials say there is no evidence that the school fire and the residence fire are connected.
There's no word on what caused the fires. Nobody one was hurt.
