CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
A jury began deliberating Friday in the shooting deaths of Raylynn Chelton and Tasha Lopes, who were kidnapped, robbed, sexually assaulted and killed in northwest Charlotte in 1993.
They deliberated for five hours and will continue on Monday morning.
Antwan Sanders is one of three men charged in their deaths. He is charged with all of the crimes, but he said he is not guilty and was merely present that night.
Still, the jury can find him guilty if he was "acting in concert" with the other men on the murder charge. There are a total of eight charges the jury has to decide on because there were two girls involved.
