CHARLOTTE —
This Halloween Mecklenburg County deputies and Charlotte police officers will patrol to make sure these sex offenders are at home and staying away from children.
In Gaston County, registered sex offenders on active probation will have to attend a meeting during peak trick-or-treating hours this Halloween.
Offenders will learn about new laws, update their paperwork and watch a video from state board of probation and parole.
If offenders don’t show up for the meeting, they’ll go to jail.
