LENOIR, N.C. —
And firefighters were still on the scene late Tuesday night.
The blaze broke out shortly before 2 a.m. The glow from the flames could be seen from miles away. Eyewitness News reporter Dave Faherty said he drove to the fire from the Hudson area and he started seeing a red glow in the distance along Highway 321.

More than 60 firefighters worked for hours to keep the flames from spreading to other companies in the area. No firefighters were hurt.
Fire investigators said they will spend the day trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
This isn’t the first time the Singer plant caught fire. Fire broke out there about a decade ago.
