Local Domino's Employees Fired After Online 'Prank' Video

CONOVER, N.C. —

Two local Domino’s Pizza employees have been fired and could face criminal charges after what they call a prank ended up on the Internet.

The employees, who have only been identified by their first names -- Michael and Kristy -- in a Domino’s corporate press release, worked at a restaurant in Conover. Videos posted on YouTube show the male worker sticking ingredients up his nose and sneezing on food.

Tim McIntyre, vice president of communication for Domino’s, said the workers were identified late Monday. He said they confessed to filming what they called a prank and said none of the food was served to customers.

One video even shows the male employee wiping his buttocks with a sponge inside the kitchen.

The two were fired and Domino’s is pursuing criminal and legal action against them, McIntyre said.

McIntyre also including an e-mail sent to him from Kristy. It reads, “This prank was very, very immature and I am sorry for the embarrassment that I have caused your company.”

Eyewitness News showed the video to several neighbors in the Conover area. Kenny Sherrill said, "That's pretty nasty. I work in a restaurant myself. I never thought about doing anything like that."
