Hi, I'm Sue Myrick - your Representative in Congress.

I want you to know what I believe... unedited and unfiltered.

I believe that Illegal Immigration is just that.... It's Illegal.

I believe that our government has failed in protecting and securing our borders.

I believe our way of life, the culture and ideals we hold dear, are being threatened by illegal aliens and the political forces who are pushing for their citizenship.

I support legal immigration, but illegal immigration is just flat wrong!

I reject the Senate’s “Amnesty bill”…

It makes a mockery of the rule of law!

To put the people who came here illegally in front of those people who have played by the rules to gain citizenship, is to thumb our noses at people who followed our laws.

How can we create a guest worker program when we can't even enforce the laws on the books?

How can we change the process of citizenship before we first secure our nations’ borders?

If we reward law breakers by allowing them to stay in our country... why should we be surprised if they continue to break our laws?

Scott Gardner's killer did.

Scott and his wife Tina, lived in Gaston County.

They were headed to the beach for a family vacation; but never got there.

Scott, Tina, and their two small children were struck by an illegal alien who was driving drunk.

The man who killed Scott, put Tina in a convalescent home and orphaned their two children, had FIVE prior DWI convictions.

Why was he even in our country!?

In Scott's memory, I introduced the Scott Gardner Act, so that an illegal alien convicted of DWI is automatically deported after the first offense!

In response to my introducing this bill, I was labeled by many as targeting Hispanics.

My bill targets illegal aliens because that's a federal responsibility.

I am sick and tired of the politically correct crowd telling us law-abiding, god-fearing, tax paying citizens what we can and can not say.

I believe the border should be secure.

I voted to authorize the hiring of 6000 new Border Patrol agents to keep illegals from coming in through Mexico.

I voted to authorize the military to be on the border and I support the national guard being there.

I voted to build 700 more miles of double-layered fencing along the border.

If we can put a man on the moon, surely we can secure our border!

If you knowingly hire illegal aliens, I’ve got news for you.

I introduced a bill to raise the fine for hiring illegal aliens from the current $250 to $10,000. Too steep for your business? Then stop hiring illegal aliens!

If you are an illegal alien using someone else’s social security number to find work... know this.... I introduced a bill that will force the Social Security office to tell the Department of Homeland Security when duplicate numbers are being used. That card belongs to someone else!

I helped to federally deputize our local sheriff’s deputies so that they can help fight illegal immigration.

Some say it’s not their responsibility. Well it is now! I'm trying to get an immigration court in Charlotte… to speed up deportation hearings, rather than releasing illegals and asking them to show up at the nearest courthouse in Atlanta. Give me a break. They never show up.

That's the problem with our government... there is no common sense.

Next, I want to build a federal detention and removal center...which is a fancy name for an immigration jail... here in Charlotte. You will be hearing more about this effort in the months to come, but I want you to know I am working on it, because it helps to see the big picture.

Here’s the big picture:

First, we federally deputize our sheriff's deputies to help identify illegal aliens when they commit an offense…. Done.

Second, we put an immigration court here to so we speed up the deportation process. We are close on this one. I’m working on it.

And third, we build our own jail for the whole state, right here. No more excuses… No sir, we will have a one-stop-shop right here. Catch'm, book'm, jail'm and deport them.

That's the goal. It's that simple.
