CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

More than 1,200 runners took to the pavement to help their community with the Shamrock 4-miler through Ballantyne.

The runners took off at 8 a.m. from the Stonecrest Shopping Center on Rea Road.

Proceeds benefitted the Ronald McDonald House.

Organizers have not yet released how much money they raised, but they did say that they were grateful for the community's support.
