CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Two deadly shootings in the middle of two Charlotte neighborhoods.Tonight, the gunmen in these two separate murders remain on the run.People living along Trinity Road and Driftwood Drive are rattled about the crimes.CMPD detectives are still trying to track down the man who shot two people inside the EL Gavilan club on Driftwood Drive early Sunday morning.A security guard who didn't want to be identified told Eyewitness News two women inside the club got into a fight -- and then minutes later -- a man started shooting.Twenty-six-year old Jose Hernandez Diaz was shot several times and died on the scene -- another man was shot and transported to the hospital.That security guard also told us he chased the suspect from the scene --- but he got away. He believes surveillance cameras were able to capture him.Henri Chirlos owns two restaurants near el Gavilan.He says he actually owned that sports bar in 2003."I know that club. We opened that club and we didn't have any problems" says Chirlos.This makes at least four shootings at the club in the last several years.And in North Charlotte -- police are still searching for the person who killed earnest Milton. He was found shot to death at a home on Trinity Road early Sunday morning.Neighbors say they heard three gunshots shortly after midnight.Milton died on the way to the hospital.
