Lockdown lifted at 2 schools after west Charlotte shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Two schools were briefly placed on lockdown after a reported shooting in west Charlotte, police said.

Officers were called to Taylor Street around 2:30 p.m. The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to CMC - Main for treatment, Medic said.

The Northwest School of the Arts and University Park Elementary were placed on lockdown, according to police. Officials said the lockdown was lifted around 3 p.m.

Officers are looking for the suspect.
