CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
About 5,000 Duke Energy customers in Charlotte will go through part of the night without power, according to the power company.
Duke Energy has a scheduled outage in the Starmount area of Charlotte. Crews are working in the area of Sweeden Road. Work started at 11 p.m. and will last about five hours, Duke officials said.
Duke said the crews are replacing a rotten power pole in the area and said it’s imperative the pole is changed out now instead of waiting for it to fall because that could have damaged equipment and led to a longer outage.
