Town known for Christmas display votes on alcohol referendum
McAdenville's 405 registered voters will decide whether alcohol can be sold during the town's annual Christmas event.

MCADENVILLE, N.C. —

The town of McAdenville will vote on Tuesday whether or not to sell alcohol in the town.

The town of McAdenville, known for its dazzling display of Christmas lights, has always been dry.

Those against selling alcohol say it would ruin the town's image.

Supporters say liquor sales would improve the economy.

The referendum would not allow ABC Stores or bars.
