CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Air quality officials have issued a health notice for air pollution in the Charlotte area on Tuesday.
A code orange air quality alert was issued, which means that air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups, including children and older adults; people who work or exercise outdoors; people with heart conditions; and people with respiratory ailments.
Officials said the primary pollutant of concern is ozone. High levels of it generally occur on hot, sunny days with stagnant air. The forecast high for Tuesday is 89 degrees.
