BBB warning people looking for summer work to watch for scams

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

The Better Business Bureau is warning people in the market for a summer job to be on the alert for scams.

The BB said this is the time of year when questionable websites pop up, offering high-paying summer jobs for little work.

However, those offers can include paying money up front.

“No matter how much is promised, how much is guaranteed, if you’re paying a fee up front, it’s going to be a scam,” said Tom Bartholomy.

The BBB also said people should be cautious about where they post their resumes online.
