ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. —
Friends and family will remember a 7-year-old boy from Rowan County on Sunday, who was killed in an ATV accident. Bryce Rueger died Thursday, when the ATV he was driving flipped outside of his home in Salisbury. Rueger's 11-year-old cousin was also hurt in the accident. Rueger's visitation will take place on Sunday at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. His funeral will take place on Wednesday in Indiana.

"Kids love these things, they're a lot of fun, and I'm sure their parents like for them to do it but they sure are dangerous," said Purcell. The state law currently says that it is illegal for children younger than 8 years old to operate an ATV. Purcell said he agrees with the American Association of Pediatrics which recommends children younger than 16 be banned to operate one. Purcell's term ends on Dec. 31, but he is hoping another lawmaker will take up the cause.
