CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The week will start out with a brief cool-down before temperatures bounce back up to near 60 degrees for most the week.
No major weather makers will appear this week, but there is a small chance of rain on Friday.
Clouds built across the area on Sunday, which cooled temperatures about 5 degrees.
The clouds will bring no precipitation to Charlotte, but the mountains saw some light mix overnight.
Ashe, Avery and Watauga county schools are closed Monday because of snow that fell overnight.
Temperatures will rebound near 60 degrees Tuesday with sunshine returning. Temperatures will stay close to 60 degrees all week.
Severe Weather Center 9 is tracking rain for late Thursday and Friday that will likely be just rain even for mountains. No flooding is expected.
