SHELBY, N.C. —
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, a Burns High School student was hit by a truck and transported to the Cleveland
Regional Medical Center Friday night following the school's football game.
The student was walking through the school parking lot and was struck by a fellow student, said Trooper Richard Hall.
Hall said the truck was not moving at a high speed when it struck the student.
State troopers used school surveillance video to charge the driver who hit a Burns High School student in Cleveland County on Friday.
The driver is also a student and has been charged with wreckless driving.
The victim, whose name and condition have not been released, was taken to the hospital.
