MATTHEWS, N.C. —
Police are looking for the man who robbed a Matthews bank on Wednesday morning.
The robbery happened around 9:45 a.m. at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union at Independence Boulevard/Matthews-Mint Hill Road, officials said. No one was injured.

Butler High School, which is nearby, was placed on lockdown for about 20 minutes after the incident.
The robber is described as a heavyset black man with a gray goatee and salt-and-pepper hair. He is around 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs around 250 pounds and was wearing blue jeans, a gray sweatshirt, brown work boots and a blue ball cap, according to officials.
Investigators think he left the area on foot.
