Church holds own ‘Souper Bowl’ to help 700 families

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

This Super Bowl Sunday, a Mount Holly church held its own "Souper Bowl."

Core Care held a Souper Bowl Hunger Relief Tailgate and gathered a truckfull of food for people in need.

It will help feed more than 700 families. Their goal is to give each family a week's worth of groceries.

Core Care helps people year-round all across the region.

Last year, the non-profit fed more than 16,000 people through the year. In 2013, it hopes to feed more than 30,000.
