A North Carolina man denies telling security agents that he said the word "bomb" while going through security at Bradley International Airport.
Jordan Rickard, of Charlotte, N.C., faces breach of peace and other charges after his arrest at the Windsor Locks airport on Monday. Security agents say the 26-year-old Rickard said he had a bomb when asked if he had anything in his pockets.
The Journal Inquirer reports that the Transportation Security Administration said Rickard twice said he had a bomb, patting and slapping his right pocket. He was about to board a flight to Durham, N.C.
Rickard also faces charges of illegal tampering with airport equipment and falsely reporting an incident. He was arraigned in Enfield court on Tuesday and released on a promise to appear.
