CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is handing out more than $142 million to fix roads in the state.
Charlotte is to receive $19.3 million from the DOT.
Out of more than 500 communities receiving money, Charlotte was granted the most based on its population as well as the number of roads the city has.
The money will be handed out by the first of the year.
