Close to 100 people turned out Saturday night for an inter-faith discussion about the growing unrest in the Middle East.
Saturday's dinner and meeting was organized by Charlotte's Muslim American Society as a way to condemn the violence.
Muslim leaders said they were impressed by tonight's turnout, especially because it was organized within 48 hours.
Thousands of people across the Middle East have protested a recent anti-Islam film on YouTube ridiculing the Prophet Mohammed.
"All of this is immoral, ignorance, injustice," said local Imam John Ederer. "What people are doing in the Middle East is despicable to us."
Ederer said he's devastated by the death of four American diplomats this week, including the Ambassador to Libya.
Muslims said there's a growing fear that continued unrest in the Middle East could result in acts of vandalism locally.
That's why they invited people from all faiths to help spread a message of peace, and tolerance.
