The big story of course is the impending chill that is already being felt in the mountains. There has been no snow yet, but a few flakes are likely early Wednesday evening.Once the winds die down after sunset temperatures, will cool to the mid-30s in Charlotte.Sunshine won’t be a problem through the weekend, but the cold air will be. Friday will be the coolest day with temperatures staying in the 50s.Saturday morning looks to be the coldest with most areas around Charlotte at or below freezing for the first time this fall.Severe Weather Center 9 meteorologist Steve Udelson says Saturday’s low will be 30 degrees. The record low for Saturday is 29 degrees.A gradual warm-up gets underway this weekend and continues into next week with no rain in sight.
