Students at Harding University High School in Charlotte wore hoodies on Monday to honor an unarmed Florida teen who was shot and killed.
A neighborhood watch leader thought Trayvon Martin looked suspicious in his hoodie.
They two got into a fight and Martin was killed one month ago, police said.
The accused shooter, George Zimmerman, has not been arrested because he said it was self-defense.
Students at Harding used social media to organize Monday’s silent protest.
“It’s something everybody knows about. It’s something we are all supporting. So, it’s another way to bring us all together,” said Harding student Asia Dukes. “Hopefully, it brings justice for his family.”
