CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Chiquita said it lost money in the fourth quarter.
The company predicts it lost between $10 million and $20 million.
That’s compared to losing $67 million in the third quarter.
The company estimates it made between $1 million and $11 million for all of 2012.
The numbers released Monday by the Charlotte-based banana company are preliminary.
Chiquita hired a new CEO toward the end of 2012 who promised to help the company grow.
The company said it has about $52 million in cash, plus more money that it can borrow if needed.
