The streetcar project has gotten so much attention, it has overshadowed other projects planned around Charlotte.
There are roughly $800 million in other plans.
"That's the goal and that was the goal with the whole package last year and continues to be the goal," said Councilmember David Howard.
City leaders seem to agree on these projects and would have moved forward with them last year, but they are on the same list as the streetcar and that held up the entire vote.
Projects include: Building six police stations, housing all 911 centers under one roof, purchasing land for new fire stations, widening Dixie River Road in Steele Creek, connecting Park South Drive to Carnegie Boulevard in SouthPark, building a another bridge over Interstate 85 near Ikea in the University area, making Matheson Avenue, Graham Street and other streets better for walkers, and redoing the Monroe Road-Idlewild Road intersection in southeast Charlotte, where Mikeyia Summers is fed up with traffic.
