City Council meets to begin process of finding new city manager

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Charlotte's City Council met Monday to begin the process of finding a new city manager.

In the meeting, Mayor Anthony Foxx said he wants to draw from a nationwide pool of candidates to find the most qualified person for the job.

The council has just over two months to settle on a candidate. That's when Curt Walton, the current city manager, plans to retire.
