CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is looking into how to enforce the statewide sweepstakes ban that took effect last week.

The Police Department is having each of its division's audit how many sweepstakes places are still open.

Once it gets that report, it will decide what the next step will be.

Officers in surrounding counties have already started warning businesses about the ban.
