CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The cold is in place and will stick around for a few days.
Sunshine filled skies will only help to warm things up to the mid-to upper 50s Wednesday afternoon.
The winds will be picking up through the day and will gust near 40 mph in the mountains. This wind will generate mountain snow showers.
A blast of cold air lasts into Thursday with morning temperatures in the mid-20s. Temperatures will warm up into the 50s again Thursday afternoon.
Mountain snow showers will be off and on through Thursday with about an inch expected in the higher elevations.
Warmer weather comes back in by Friday and the weekend. A small chance of rain remains for Saturday, but doesn’t look to be much.
Another chance to see the comet comes Wednesday night just after sunset, which is 7:30 p.m. The comet was visible Tuesday night about 45 minutes after sunset.
