CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
There are new concerns the fight over control of Charlotte Douglas International Airport could hurt local business. The top business recruiter for Charlotte said the fight has hurt efforts to attract companies to move here, and business leaders have asked him about the effect. He said companies considering a move to Charlotte are concerned.Documents obtained by Channel 9 show the airport is the number one reason businesses move here. Since Charlotte taxpayers expanded the airport, more than 7,800 companies have decided to move here. The airport is still under city control because of a court injunction. The new commission, appointed by state law, is working on getting the go-ahead from the Federal Aviation Administration to start running the airport.
